AUSTIN (Jan. 26, 2024) –The Austin Spurs (6-6) fell to the Santa Cruz Warriors (6-5), 125-123 on Thursday evening at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

David Duke Jr. led the Spurs with 26 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Dominick Barlow and Javante McCoy both finished with 24 points while Mamadi Diakite chipped in 13 points.

In a close opening quarter, Austin shot 65.2% from the field and took an early lead by three, 38-35. The Spurs kept up the pace in the second period to finish ahead, 70-65. Barlow finished the first half with 17 points for Austin. The third quarter presented two lead changes and four ties that featured a Pat Spencer three to tie it at 91 at the end of the frame. Both teams battled it out in the final period, but Santa Cruz claimed an eight-point advantage with 22.8 seconds left in the game. Though the Spurs would come within two with 1.5 seconds remaining, time would expire in favor of the Warriors.

Kendric Davis posted a game-high 33 points for Santa Cruz on 9-of-14 shooting from the field and 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. Donovan Williams scored 22 points while Usman Garuba posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Warriors.
