FORMER SAN ANTONIO SPUR FABRICIO OBERTO JOINS AUSTIN SPURS BROADCAST TEAM

Record number of Austin games to be broadcast on FOX Sports Southwest

AUSTIN, Texas (Feb. 9, 2021) – The Austin Spurs today announced that former San Antonio Spurs center Fabricio Oberto will be Austin’s color analyst this season. The NBA champion and Olympic gold medalist joins returning play-by-play announcer Dan Weiss for the most televised games in Austin history.

Oberto spent four seasons with the Silver and Black from 2005-09 and was a key member of the Spurs 2007 Championship team. A native of Argentina, Oberto was a member of Argentina’s Golden Generation National Team from 1995-2011, winning the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics and capturing numerous FIBA championships. Oberto was inducted into the FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019.

The Austin Spurs 2021 broadcast schedule is highlighted by eight games on FOX Sports Southwest (FSSW), two games on FOX Sports Southwest Plus and three nationally televised games. All 10 games televised on FSSW will also be streamed live via the FOX Sports GO app. Fans can also stream 12 of the team’s games live on ESPN+ and two on Twitch.

The Spurs matchup against the Erie BayHawks on Feb. 13 and their meeting with the Santa Cruz Warriors on Feb. 28 will air on NBA TV. Austin’s game against the Canton Charge on Feb. 16 will be broadcast on ESPNU. Austin kicks off the 2021 season tomorrow, Feb. 10, against the Memphis Hustle on FSSW.
