SAN ANTONIO ASSIGNS LUKA SAMANIC TO AUSTIN SPURS

​SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 27, 2021) – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have assigned forward Luka Samanic to the Austin Spurs. Samanic joins Austin in Orlando as they prepare to tip off the 2021 NBA G League season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.

Samanic has appeared in four games this season for San Antonio, averaging 1.8 points in 2.8 minutes. Last season in his rookie year, Samanic appeared in 33 games with the Austin Spurs, averaging 15.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists. A native of Croatia, Samanic was originally selected by San Antonio in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft (19th overall).

The Austin Spurs start training camp in Orlando on Sunday, Jan. 31 before opening the season on Wed., Feb. 10 at 10:30 a.m. CT against the Memphis Hustle.
