AUSTIN (Jan. 26, 2023) – The Austin Spurs (4-8) take the win over the Texas Legends (4-7), 131-108 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Thursday night.
Charles Bassey led Austin with a season high of 40 points and 16 rebounds, his fourth double-double on the season. Bassey shot 19-24 from the field and went 2-3 at the three. Bassey is the second player this year to have at least 40 points and 15 rebounds in the league. Jordan Murphy also notched a season high 18 points while Justin Kier hit a high of 14 points and 10 assists. Tommy Kuhse added 13 points.
Spurs went on a 11-0 run with 0:24 left in the first quarter to outscore the Legends 34-20. The momentum carried over into the second frame as the Spurs shot 68.9% from the field and 50% from the three, as they took the lead at the end of the first half, 74-46. Though Texas outscored Austin in the third (33-32) and in the fourth (29-25), it wasn’t enough to overcome the Spurs.
Tyler Dorsey led the Legends with 25 points while Grant Riller scored 18 points. Amauri Hardy added 16 points for Texas in the loss.

Austin will travel to Edinburg, TX to face the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Jan 28. Tipoff is set for 7:30 at the Bert Ogden Arena.
