AUSTIN (Nov. 4, 2022) – The Austin Spurs dropped their home opener to the Texas Legends by a score of 120-113 to open the 2022-23 season.
Two-way player Charles Bassey led the Spurs with 33 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks in 33 minutes, while Jalen Adaway added 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Austin jumped out to a 33-25 lead after the first quarter and carried a 60-54 advantage into the locker room at half. Texas outscored the Spurs 28-22 in the third quarter to tie things up going into the final period at 82 apiece. The Legends used a 38-point fourth quarter to seal the victory.
McKinley Wright IV led the Legends with 29 points and Jaden Hardy added 23 points and 6 assists in the win.
The 2022-23 Austin Spurs season is presented by SWBC.
