Austin also acquires three picks in the 2022 NBA G League Draft
AUSTIN (Feb. 23, 2022) – The Austin Spurs today announced that the team has acquired the returning player rights to guard Ky Bowman from the Agua Caliente Clippers in exchange for the returning player rights to Cam Reynolds and a first-round pick in the 2022 G League Draft.
Bowman, 6-1/190, most recently appeared in six games for Agua Caliente in the 2020-21 G League season, averaging 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 23.2 minutes per game. He has spent the past year recovering from ACL surgery. Playing in 45 games for the Golden State Warriors in the 2019-20 season, he posted 7.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 22.6 minutes per game and was assigned to the Santa Cruz Warriors for 12 games. In three seasons at Boston College from 2016-19, he recorded 17.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.34 steals in 35.5 minutes per game.
Bowman will wear No. 6 for the Silver and Black.
In a related move, the team has traded Anthony Mathis to the Texas Legends in exchange for two third-round picks in the 2022 G League Draft. The team has also acquired the returning player rights to Jarrod Uthoff and a first-round pick in the 2022 G League Draft from the Birmingham Squadron in exchange for the returning player rights to Daulton Hommes.
