AUSTIN SPURS ACQUIRE CHAUNDEE BROWN JR.

 

AUSTIN (Sept. 27, 2022) – The Austin Spurs today announced that the team has acquired the returning player rights to guard Chaundee Brown Jr. from the South Bay Lakers in exchange for Austin’s first round pick in the 2023 NBA G League Draft and the returning player rights to Galen Robinson Jr.

Brown Jr., 6-5/215, played in 30 games with South Bay last season, averaging 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 30 minutes per game. During the 2021-22 season, he also appeared in two games with the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-way contract, in three games with the Atlanta Hawks on a 10-day contract and finished the season on a two-way contract with Atlanta. The Orlando, Florida native spent three seasons playing at Wake Forest from 2017-20 before transferring to Michigan, where he was an All-East Regional Team selection. In 112 college games, he averaged 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 25 minutes per game. As a high school senior at The First Academy, Brown Jr. was named Florida’s Gatorade State Basketball Player of the Year.
