AUSTIN SPURS ANNOUNCE COACHING STAFF ADDITIONS

AUSTIN, Texas (Jan. 25, 2021) – The Austin Spurs today announced that Kenny Trevino and Parker Hines have been named assistant coaches on Head Coach Matt Nielsen’s staff. Trevino and Hines join returning assistants Petar Božić and Reece Gaines. The Austin Spurs 2021 season is presented by SWBC.

Trevino spent last season as a coaching assistant with Austin. He first joined the Spurs organization as a ball boy for San Antonio in 2012 and became an assistant equipment manager for the team in the 2016-17 season. He worked in San Antonio’s video room from 2016-19. The Laredo, Texas, native graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2016.

Hines comes to Austin after spending the past four seasons with the San Antonio Spurs. He served as assistant video coordinator with the team from 2018-20. He started as a basketball operations quality assurance assistant during the 2016-17 season and transitioned to a video coordinator quality assurance assistant role for the 2017-18 season. He earned his degree in marketing and communications from Augsburg University, where he averaged 10.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 31.1 minutes per game for the Auggies.

The Austin Spurs are one of 18 G League teams that will begin the season in February at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla.
