Austin Spurs Host Black History Month Celebration on February 11th

Team to Honor African American Veterans

AUSTIN, Texas (January 29, 2018) – The Austin Spurs, presented by SWBC, will host their annual Black History Month game on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. vs. the Iowa Wolves at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. The first 500 fans will receive drawstring bags courtesy of Wells Fargo.

This year, Austin will honor African American veterans in accordance with the national theme for 2018, “African Americans in Times of War”, honoring those brave men and women who served their countries in the armed forces. The Spurs will host veterans at the game, as well as honor those attending on court during a halftime ceremony.

During Black History Month, the NBA G League, its players and teams celebrate black history and culture and their important impact on society and basketball. Additionally, players wear special Black History Month warmup shirts throughout the month of February.
